My dad loves fruits. Almost any kind, but his all time favorite is grapes.
One time I asked him out of curiosity what would be the first thing he would do if he became a millionaire. Without any hesitation, he replied “I would eat as many grapes as possible.”
At this point I knew I had s great idea for s birthday gift. A few months down the line my dad’s birthday was coming up and so I thought I will make my dad a millionaire even if for just a day or two.
I bought a big cardboard box and went to the market to fill it up with large delicious green grapes. The lady could fit in about 15 pounds of grapes.
I went home and wrapped the box in a nice birthday wrapping paper and wrote a birthday card for my dad:
“Dear Dad,
I hope you are having an amazing day as a millionaire on this special day.
Happy Birthday!
Your son, Peter.”
When he read the card he was puzzled because he did not seem to remember what he said a few months prior. He was even more puzzled when he was handed the box as it was quite heavy.
Then he opened and he burst out laughing. He right away took out a handful of grapes and ate them all without washing them.
The best gifts are never the expensive ones, but the ones that have the most and deepest thoughts behind them.
Neither my Dad nor I will forget this birthday of his. It is such a nice memory!
